26'' LCD TV Question

Ok guys... not going to use a small LCD TV for home theater, but I need some help on choosing a good quality LCD TV for the house.

I've been looking at Samsung's HDTV unit. THat seems to be priced well and have similar features to the Sony units. How do Panasonic's, Toshiba's, or Sharp's compare?

Any advice on choosing? Are any of them significantly better than others? I'm looking for a built in HD tuner, HDMI, component Video, VGA, and I could care less about cablecard at this point.

Sony and Sharp are pretty much at the top of the LCD food chain IMO. The rest are pretty good as well and tend to be a bit cheaper. As it's a 26" I'm assuming it's not a hugely critical display at 26"... more casual viewing in a kitchen or bedroom I assume? If that's the case you may be more willing to give up a small percentage of performance for some decent $$$ savings...?

i recently got the lg 26lx1d, the msrp is 1499 and you can probably find one cheaper on sale. had it for about 3 months and the picture is great with dvd/hd and looks decent with analog. i considered the sharp, but it was six hundred dollars more. the samsung lnr2668, is the same price as the lg, but the lg has a built in atsc tuner. one thing i dont like about samsung lcd's is that there contrast ratios are "dynamic" and the picture seems to be a bit washed out in color in comparison to sharp, sony, and lg.
