Hi, Delon. You probably haven't gotten a response because there are many variables you have to consider before buying a PJ and you didn't give much information. For example, you need to know room length and where you plan to place the projector in the room, and the size screen you hope to use, because these things will determine throw distance and projectors have different throws. Why not go to the Projector Central website. They show just about every PJ in that $3K range in both lcd and dlp. And each has a throw calculator in the specifications.
Hope this helps.- Bottom

by BentGreetings,
Although I currently have a Widescreen RPTV, I am trying to keep up with the fast-paced-ever-changing world of LCD and DLP projectors, one of the hang-ups I have with them is you can get a short throw pj (Panasonic AE series), or a long throw (Sony VPL-400Q, I know it's long in the... -
by SZ99I need to project an image that is about 3 inches wide (diag). Therefore, I need a projector that has a very short throw distance and that makes very small images (obviously I am not planning to use it as a regular projector). Also, the technology must be DLP.
