    HD50LPW52 vs. HLN5065W

ok, both of these sets sell for the same price. So, is either one better than the other, or are they pretty much the same? any help would be appriciated.

Well, the Samsung uses the older HD2 chip and the RCA uses the HD3 chip. The HD3 chip is newer, but is actually a budget chip, and quality wise is about the same as the HD2.

The HD2+ is actually the best single dlp chip currently on the market.

There is more to picture quality than the chip, such things as video processing and scaling.

What is the price you are paying for these sets (or your budget)?

Have you had a chance to demo both of them?

Without knowing the model number, I could only guess that the other Samsung probably uses the newer HD3 chip, thus only $100 more, since it is about on par with the HD2 chip.

My neighbor just bought a Samsung 4674 for $2499 and he picked it over the Samsung 4663 at $1999. The 4674 uses the better HD2+ chip and yes, to him, was worth the extra $500 because it did look that much better, and I agreed.

If you could find a good deal on a set with the HD2+ chip and it fit in your budget, I would go with it. It is that much better.

If you are picking between the RCA and Samsung, I would say go with whichever one looks better to you. They should be pretty comparable.

          Samsung HLN5065 ISF Calibrated
          by mazuly
I finally paid the CDN $350.00 and had my set ISF calibrated. The calibration was done by Michael Chen or better known as Michael TLV on forums. He came over at around 6:00 PM and was working on my set until about 11:00 PM tweaking and adjusting. So what is the difference in PQ you may ask, well, I...

........ :E Im dying here,I cannot decide to either wait for the 2005 Samsung DLP models available around Sept,Oct(Canada) or buy a 2004 model now.
The problem is the new sets have a possible future HD resolution standard 1920x1080p not to mention BD + HD-dvd will be 1080p. The new Samsung sets...

          Toshiba CRT or Samsung DLP?
          by Snap
I keep hearing stuff about the Toshiba CRT, but I live in the sticks and I have to drive an hour just to get to a circuit city to even look at one. To make things worse, when I went there the other day they did not have ANY of the Toshiba CRT TV! Now, I have seen the Samsung 56 in DLP with the HD2 chip...

Pushing the envelope on 4K Yes, I bought

I know we typically think BIG, and BIG is BETTER when it comes to screens. However, I used some reverse logic with this decision. In addition to cost considerations, I made quality considerations. The set I opted for is the 55" curved front 9000 Samsung curved front TV. You may be saying, curved...
