Infocus SP 5000 vs Sanyo PLV-Z3

Hello all,

So I am about ready to take the plunge and buy my first front projection screen.

I have pretty much narrowed it down (through cost and HDTV features) to the two that meet my requirements.

If I could get some reviews out of any of you that have to do with ease of use, features etc, I would appreciated it.

I will be in a fairly dark, dedicated home theater with viewing screen of approximately 80-86 inches.

Y\your help would be greatly appreciated.

Michael-- I'm looking at the same two projectors, with the addition of the Panasonic AE-700, which has some MASSIVE sales and rebates going on right now. All three models end up being very, very close in price! I'm interested in what you find out, too.

When I was looking, the Panasonic AE-700 was several hundred dollars more than the SP5000, and the Z3 was in the middle price-wise. I picked the Infocus SP5000 and I've been very pleased with it ever since.

Still, if I could have gotten the Panasonic AE-700 for the same price (or close), I would have chosen it instead.

I also chose the sp5000 and project it on a 123" Firehawk. I am very happy although this is the largest screen I would use with this projector. Fantastic on HD programs and very good on dvds. You have to adjust the advanced settings to get the most out of this projector. I would love to compare settings with other owners in light controlled rooms.
