    Another little suggestion (formatting)

Nice forum ya guys got here. As a HTF veteran, I do have one itsy bitsy suggestion. When viewing threads, I find I have to expand my browser window to full size on my 1024x768 desktop & small fonts in order to avoid having to horizontally scroll (pan & scan?) the threads. I would suggest making the message portion of the thread "less wide", since I haven't figured out how to letterbox my browser and my monitor is only a 4:3 aspect ratio. I bet folks with 800x600 resolution would have a problem too.

    Thanks guys & gals!

    KJP

    Hey Keith,

I have my desktop at 1024x768 and don't have a problem. As a matter of fact, if I make the window smaller, the thread re-sizes itself to fit my window.

Maybe you have an option in IE that is not setup?

BTW: I'm running NT4.0 Server with IE 5

I would say he is using netcrap. I myself use netcrap. Personally, my experience with Explorer hasn't been great. So, I stick with my old reliable Netcrap. Mats hates me for it too, lol.

Not exactly sure I am on the same page as you guys on what the problem is here. But that's not surprising, I just sat down here.

Kevin, right now I think it's guys and gal. lol. We do have one female member, though I personally invited another. But she hasn't showed up.

Love your address listing, "The Road Construction State", that's classic stuff there

Anyone that has been through Knoxville lately would know that we might challenge you on that statement, lol. We got some fairly major interchange and lane additions going on right where I40 and I75 are the same interestate. That's right, 1 road carrying 2 interstates worth of traffic, lol. Did I mention it's further right in the middle of our metro area? rofl. How ingenious.

Actually, it's not Netscrape, I'm using IE 5.0. But I do know what it is. I am using an Internet Junkbuster proxy with some mods I made for stealth browsing, which among other things removes all IMG tags and other flashy dashy stuff to make web browsing a bit more covert from my not-so-private location. Somehow this stealthing process is interfering with the auto-sizing in the threads. I'm not sure why, since it works fine in HTF. I think it has to do with the row of "buttons" at the top of each post, with the long ALT tags which become the links when using the stealth proxy. If I turn off the stealth mode, the auto-sizing works fine.

So it's not HTG's fault directly, but it works fine in HTF. I haven't figured out what's different yet, I'm not much of an advanced HTML weenie.

              Thanks.. KJP

Kevin, the basic difference is you are talking about two different software packages, and HTG is not written directly in HTML. Rather it's written in Cold Fusion. Mats is a virtual wiz with cold fusion, lucky for us. Notice I said virtual. Gotcha Mats!

You'll get a virtual reply to that one
CFBoards won't delete or shorten the ALT tags used on thoose buttons. It's possible we can do it here on this specific forum with the possible problem when a new release is made and these small adjustments we do here can get lost...
If there is more ppl out there running image less browsing and have this problem, please speak out so we can see if it's worth the task changing this behaviour.
