Mean Girls

Watched it tonight. A 16 year old girl returns from home schooling in the African bush country and is tossed into the American social world of high school social cliques (is that the right spelling?). This has some very, very smart social commentary and both my wife, youngest daughter, and I laughed out loud many times. Star called it "viciously funny" and I have to agree.

So, I'd recommend it. Anyone else see it yet?

Like OMG, I totally can't believe you watched this last night too! :lol:

As Keith mentioned, it is quite funny in parts and definitely points a funny finger at certain social elements. The picture was pretty good, nice colour saturation etc and all the hot young women looked their hottest The one weak point of the movie IMO was the soundtrack. Very "front three" heavy with pretty much no surround or sub activity (not that you should expect much in this genre) and even the music seemed dissapointing and flat for the most part. Quite in contrast with Miss Lohan's chest :lol: At least the dialougue was clear.

Depends on context I guess. When it comes to candy names, it looks like "smartie" is the way to go... but checking an authoritative source (the subtitles for Mel Brooks' movie "The Producers") :>) where Mel Brooks himself says the following line in the production number "Springtime for Hitler":

"Don't be stupid, be a smarty. Come and join the Nazi Party."

it is spelled "smarty". I've also seen it spelled "smarty" when used in combination with the word "pants". As in "OK, smarty pants, how do YOU spell 'relief'?" which is a timely question if you've eaten too much candy-covered chocolate. :>)

I guess we could have filled up a movie theater last night... I also watched it with my youngest daughter ...And Ms. Lohan's ...aahhh..dialougue was quite clear.
Although I was hoping for a little more slapstick and less risque "biddNESS" going on.
The scenes where she visualized people as animals were great...shoulda had more of that.

Okay, I watched this last night. Good to see some of the Saturday Night Live crew in the film. Tina Fey, who wrote the screenplay, looked very nice indeed, with or without her glasses. Rest of the cast pretty good, too. Looks like Lindsay is on her way well up the stardom ladder. Had a few good laughs. PQ quite good. Sound was nothing spectacular, which is usually the case with this kind of film. I'll probably watch this a few more times, especially the shot where Lindsay and The Plastics do their little number on stage. :W

Finally watched this one last night. I thought that is was great! Two thumbs up. I enjoyed the SNL cast influence, but it was really funny. A semi-fresh look at how girls treat each other. Lindsey Lohan is still a hottie. Try watching a movie like that with your wife sitting next to you, and try to act uninterested.
