    Step into Liquid

Check out the DVD. Not much in terms of sound effects other than rumbling sound of huge waves, but the picture was pretty darn good. Some of the images on screen were spectacular considering there was no special effects whatsoever. These surfer dudes are amazing. Also, disc 2 is a high definition version that can be played on Windows Media Player 9 or Windows Media PC which looked stunning on my 21" NEC monitor.

I've never been into surfing but always enjoyed watching it. I rented this and truly found both the PQ and sound ( to a degree) overwhelming. I'd love to see it in hi-def.

Heh, when I saw the title to this thread, I thought Eric must have a new puppy. :B

I guess I burned out a bit on the old "surfer" movies, so I haven't seen any of the recent ones, but this one being more of a documentary sounds like a good rental. Plus the picture of the wave on the DVD case is just friggin' awesome! Big waves give me an appreciation of the definition of implacable, unstoppable power. Gotta get the subwoofer ready.

yeah, it's the possiblity of Hi Def DVD's that look like this WM9 stuff does on my PC that has me saving my nickels and dimes for a bigger projector- gotta line on a NEC 10PG that's being rebuilt with new OEM tubes- it's sort of a "budget" 9" rig; not LC, but EM and color corrected like my "baby" 9PG+.

Seriously, the WM9 version of this disk is pretty righteous, especially considering the peak bit rate limitations. I can only imagine what HD-DVD with WM9 might look like- has me salivating.

And I'm not even a surfer, even if I do live in CA.

I personally thought the title sounded mildly pornographic when a friend of mine mentioned it to me. I do have a dog, but she is fully potty trained and knows not to mess with my AudioQuest cables. :T

She knows I'm Korean and is also aware she may end up on my dinner plate if she messes with my audio cables (just kidding). :

I personally have added just about ALL the new WMHDV9 movies to my Amazon.com wish list. There's some good lookin' ones, there, too.
