    Miracle

Last Night I watched Miracle. I have to say this is easily one of the best sports movies I've seen yet. The Movie has a no name cast except for Kurt Russell who actually does a good job acting in this as he plays the coach.

I felt happy, sad and all in between while watching it. I felt a bit patriotic as well but I'll be curious how our Canucks feel about it. Still easily one of the best sports movies we'll see.

    Superbly done.

The dvd has some issues as far as PQ and SQ. Neither were outstanding but both were passable. The PQ looked good if not excellent from time to time. SQ was underwhelming but good enough.

I remember the actual event and even though I am Canadian, I couldn't help but be moved by what happened. As for the dvd, Oh, yeah, that will be in my collection for sure. Kurt Russell just gets better and better as an actor, doesn't he.

      George,
I wouldn't go that far as far as Kurt Russell getting better with age. In this particular case he was given a great role and did it well. I can't say his previous efforts in the last few years have been anything worth a hoot.

Needless to say I came into this movie w/o much knowledge of the game or the events surrounding it as I was 4 when it occurred. I felt they did a good job getting me up to speed in the matter and didn't get overly political as it often happens.

I remember it also. Spine tingling, awe-inspiring, and a little unbelievable. Watching those kids play with such grace, speed, power - it captivated this entire country. They didn't know they weren't supposed to be there.

Well, Shane, guess we have to disagree on Kurt. I thought his work in DARK BLUE and TOMBSTONE was right up there with the best of them. But if everyone always agreed this would be a terribly dull world, wouldn't it.

Watched this last night. Even though I pretty well recall how the actual game went, I couldn't help but sit at the edge of my seat during the last few minutes of the film's game. This is a very emotional and inspiring film. Too bad the coach didn't live long enough to see the movie. I'm sure he would have been proud to have been associated with it as its technical advisor.

Kurt was excellent. With the hair and nose job, though, I thought he looked a little like Bobby Orr.

Very late to this party, but had to post that this movie thrilled me. Not a "good" feel movie, a "GREAT" feel movie.

I loved this movie! I was totally absorbed in the story and the characters, even though I knew the outcome.

I actually caught myself thinking..."man, I hope they win this.." During the gameplay footage.

                To me , that's the mark of a well-made , well-acted film.

I agree that Russell has gotten' much better. He has done an excellent job with not only "Miracle", but with the other movies George mentioned.

Recently, I watched Wyatt Earp for the first time. I was blown away with Dennis Quaid's performance as Doc Holliday. I kept thinking.....that no way was that Dennis Quaid. I kept waiting for Quaids character to enter the storyline. But...he was already there...as Doc Holliday.

I thought he was very impressive in Far From Heaven, also!

Finally picked this one up at BB, part of a 2-for-$15 deal. Watched it, really enjoyed the movie. Grainy picture, not that great.

I'm very glad that Disney kept so true and precise to the real story. I was worried about seeing a Disney'd version, like "The Mighty Ducks", where in the Olympic finals the team pulls out a "Flying V" or something like that.

I was only 6 at the time of the actual game, so I don't remember too much. I don't even think I watched the original game. My dad tells me, though, that he put his fist through our ceiling jumping up and down at the time. Man, what an event.

I loved this movie, i had to buy it the day i came out. I have heard stories of how quirky herb brooks was, an i thought kirk russell nailed him. Im like everyone else, i knew how the game turned out, but the movie had me on the edge of my seat at the end of the game, an gave me goose bumps. My only quam with the movie is that they didn't go into much detail bout the gold metal game that happened later the next few days. I think it would have been great to show that game to, to some degree. But the movie would have really been long then if they did, so its understandable.

I thought the PQ an SQ could have been a little better, but oh well. That thing would really kick ass if it would have had a DTS track. Another thing bout the picture quality, is that if you watch a hockey game on tv even in HD they don't look as good as they should in my opinion.
