If you enjoy good sci-fi story telling...this might just be for you!
Sci-fi in the classic sense. I'm not talking about nit-pickin' little things, taken on the whole this story will hold you from beginning to end.
Very good video transfer, sound is fine...check out the opening sequence shot from the sun...nice effect.
This was a rental, next time I watch this one, it'll be from my library.

Thanks for the heads up, Kenny. I picked this up, largely on very skimpy word of mouth, but haven't watched it yet- in fact, gave the first one I got away, and just replaced it from Costco again. Hopeully I'll have a bit of spare time this Xmas break to catch up with DVD viewing.

Watched it last week, I think it's one of the more unusual roles I've seen Mr. Quaid in, but I did enjoy it. Nice story, with some good twists. Reasonably good anamorphic transfer, but not the best; maybe a solid 85% rating? Now that's a subjective call!

It's going to be very interesting to watch this on a big screen, seeing it on a 35" tv the transfer looked very good...but I'm now seeing things in other movies that I never saw before...transfer wise.

          Heaven & Earth

If you enjoy movies that make you feel as well as think, take a look at Oliver Stone's "Heaven & Earth", this is Stone at his best! (aren't they all?) An absolute triumph, from the beauty of pre-war Vietnam, to the terror that was Vietnam, to the strange gluttony that is America.

Well it's certainly not the book, but if you enjoy sci-fi, it is entertaining.
If you've ever read the book, then you know this could have been a sci-fi epic...but we don't get the correct set up. There needs to be about 15 minutes in front of this movie to setup the village politics, bring in...

This transfer will knock your socks off
          by George Bellefontaine
It's a French film entitled Brotherhood Of The Wolf. It's a very long film( 2 1/2 hours) and it dragged at times, but it didn't matter to me, I was just too busy soaking up this gorgeous transfer. IMO, this transfer is even better than the Fifth Element Superbit. The colors, the deep contrast and the...

          A Christmas Story Special Edition

What a great movie. This one has become a perennial holiday favorite. Now for the 20th Anniversary, a Special Edition 2-disc DVD has been released.

Great story. It's a compilation of numerous short stories by the author about his life as a child, keeping the primary plot line throughout...
