    Holes

Last weekend, a friend of my 11 year old daughter bought the movie Holes. They watched it Friday afternoon and liked it so much that they wanted me to watch it with them shortly thereafter. I'll admit that I like films designed for kids. Holes is not designed for the real young ones with violence and not always positive twists. However, it clearly seems to target, let's say, the 11-14 year old crowd.

A young teen is wrongfully sentenced to a youth detention center in the middle of the desert. It is run by a warden (Sigourney Weaver) and Mr. Sir (Jon Voight), both of whom seem to relish acting these roles. With an outward motive of turning around the youthful offenders through hard work, they are sent into the desert every day to dig large holes. The story cleverly weaves through an entanglement of mystical elements, history, issues like growing up and being accepted, racism, and cruelty in a well designed plot.

So, I give Holes a thumbs up, especially for those who don't mind a youth oriented film. I enjoyed it. Weaver and Voight are great in their roles, but the kids steal and deserve the most credit.

Good to hear, Keith. I read another review somewhere that also gave this the thumbs up, even if you are an adult. I'll be sure to give it a spin.

Good one Keith. I've seen several other postive reviews about Holes and they said much the same things you have about the story and especially Sigourney Weaver and Jon Voight. Gonna have to give it a rent. Thanks fella.

Wanted to rent this Sunday but Blockbuster only had P&S 4:3. Good ol' Disney is at it again.

Peerless 7" exclusive - venting holes in cone?
          by capslock
I got a pair of Nomex drivers with plug cheaply on ebay. They seem to be engineering samples supplied to an OEM, no type number or date code. They also have excellent workmanship, a thing I cannot say about the smaller exclusives I bought recently (by the way, the 830 882 has a Kapton former!).

Veneering question: Best way to trim pre cut driver holes?

          And that's basically it...

I've got some Modula MT boxes mostly done, was originally not going to veneer them, but now am. The driver holes, and the port and terminal cup holes are cut already. I've been thinking what would be the best way to cut and trim the holes under the veneer....

Greetings, another request for knowledge to fill my head with.

I'll be soon cutting the holes in my BP 1503 based AS-15 based SW 12 based subwoofer, and was wondering about the cutting of the holes.
