I read a review of this movie by Roger Ebert who gave it 0 stars. I couldn't believe any movie could deserve that so I rented it to see for my self.
To quote Mr. Ebert: " This movie is corrupt, intellectually bankrupt and morally dishonest, and if you doubt that, just consider for a moment the implications of the last revelation on the key videotape, which undermines the sacrifice of the hero simply to provide a cheap jolt to the slack jaws in the audience."
Sorry to say, he was spot on. I won't tell anyone not to see this. It could have been a good film with good acting by Kevin Spacey and Laura Linney. It also starred Kate Winslet, but her character, who was supposed to be a thickskinned, strong willed journalist, was , if anything, just the opposite. Oh, well.
Unlike Ebert, I'll give it :15:
