Boy, this is sad. "Ebert and Roeper" is one of only two shows that I record for watching every week. I've always appreciated the opinions and insight given on that show, especially from Roger Ebert, who I very much respect as a critic.
It was very sad when Gene Siskel died many years ago, but at least Roger was able to continue the show on, getting Richard Roeper to be his new counterpart. But since Roger has had health problems and not been able to speak on the show, the show has limped along (although I still enjoyed it) with Richard and several guests.
I hope that Roger is able to come back as a full critic in some way.
Side note: I still consider Ebert's commentary tracks on "Citizen Kane" and "Dark City" to be some of the finest commentary tracks out there, and some of the few actually worth listening to.
