rented via cable last night.

i liked it.
deals with the age-old issue of space-time conundrum.
but done in a much more personal perspective.
good script, good acting.
good flow & kept me involved.

no goofy sci-fy, unbelievable crap or fx just for the sake of being able to use or exploit it.

four out of five......good for a watch at home.

Watched Arrival last night....Holy f'ing good/10 (or say, 9 if you insist on a number).

My wife was already crying during opening lol but both of us had waterworks going by the end. Spawning sure does a number on your emotions :lol:

I've always like Adams but she KILLED it in this. The story and directing were obviously top notch as well but her performance sold those elements SO well. I really can't say enough about her work here. The emotion and nuance at the end there was especially gut wrenching to watch.

Exceedingly well done, original, thought provoking, gut wrenching Sci Fi done the way it should be. One of the best films I've seen this year...maybe even the last 5'ish :T

I liked this movie a lot but the ending got a little weird and a bit too much for me. I've even googled the ending explained and
it 's still beyond me. Maybe I'm dumb........don't know. I think this movie could have been brought down to Earth a bit and been a little more clear. What I did like is that it didn't degenerate into a huge military engagement like so many other alien movies have.

The soundtrack on the BD was fantastic and the aliens were sufficiently creepy......as were their spacecrafts......pods....or whatever you want to call them. In this case from my perspective, I found the movie got too much into it's head and beyond many potential watchers of it.

the movie's director, Denis Villeneuve, (who, btw, was born in Trois-Rivières, Quebec) is in post-production with his latest film, "Blade Runner 2049".

Yup, this one's well worth watching.
