    Elysium (2013)

This is a film with a lot of promise but unfortunately it just doesn't deliver. The video is fantastic but it can't disguise the fact that the plot is formulaic and predictable. And why oh why must every American blockbuster include at least 10,000 rounds of ammunition being fired?

It's a terrible thing to say but I came away wishing that the film had been made for all those intelligent types living on Elysium rather than for all those dummies living on Earth.

Yes, critics were not to kind. Still, I'm a Damon fan so it will likely end up in my Damon collection.

IMNSOH, director Neill Blomkamp's "Distrtic 9" was one of the best movies, let alone sci-fi, that i have seen.

Sorry to hear you are not 'tickled pink' over this one, Nigel.
But as Sir George states, i too will likely still see this film at some point as I love this genre.

I spun this on DVD yesterday and enjoyed it to a certain degree. Damon saves this film really. Jodie Foster really does not work out well in this film. She doesn't make that good of a villain acting wise. I could think of a lot of other actresses that could have worked out far better. I'm actually surprised that she took on this role.

This film is somewhat entertaining but that's all it is......... 6/10 stars for an 'ok' SiFi flick.

This is a very good science fiction film that I can recommend to any of you who prefer intelligent sci-fi that doesn't include gun fights or space ships chasing each other and tries to respect the laws of science. I was on the edge of my seat for much of the film.

I found "Antiviral" rather an odd film. Perhaps I don't have the intellect to appreciate it fully? The male hero of "Antiviral" works at a medical clinic that infects fans of sick celebrities with live viruses taken from their bodies, for a price of course. He also sells illegal...

This light hearted action film has so many big names in it I'd hate to think how large the payroll was. The big names include Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Anthony Hopkins, Helen Mirren and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

The film is almost 2 hours long. After an hour I switched it off and did...

This film is a harmless bit of fun. Watching it definitely makes 1 hour and 45 minutes go faster than attending a PowerPoint presentation about my company’s go-to-market strategy. If the film had been directed by Joe Schmuck I would have understood, but it wasn’t. It was directed by Kenneth Branagh...

            What a ripping good yarn!

When I was a boy back in the late 1950s / early 60s Thor Heyerdahl was a household name. Heyerdahl was a Norwegian explorer who had sailed across the Pacific Ocean from South America to the Polynesian islands in a balsa wood raft to prove that people from South...
