    Amores Perros - a review

You can tell it's the Dog Days of summer for me, as I venture into the rental stores looking for movies to rent these days.

I rented "Amores Perros" based on seeing Gael García Bernal in "Y Tu Mama Tambien" recently (he played Julio IIRC), and I was not disappointed in AP at all. (I didn't even read up any reviews for this film until after I saw the film). Bernal is simply riveting, when he's on the screen, you can't take your eyes off of him, definitely a gifted young natural actor with a bright future.

The tragic ironies that love inflicts on its 3 main stories was well paced and thought out. I can't believe this was a "first film effort" by the director, Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, it was pretty amazing storytelling.

If you're needing something different than the average hollywood flick to watch, give "Amores Perros" a chance, I think you'll be glad you did.

Sounds interesting, Patrick. I'll keep an eye open for it.

      Y Tu Mama Tambien - a review

Very good film. I haven't laughed that hard in quite a while. The script is just spot on entertaining. Be forewarned that it's got plenty of frank sex dialog and scenes. So if you (or someone you're seeing it with is prudish), this is not the film for you (or them). But this film is worth seeking out...

How much should a student first time film cost?
      by oldbob
In answer to my own question, I would say between $10,000 and $40,000 dollars. It used to be more but digital has drastically lowered the cost while at the same time making it much easier to produce a professional look.

However, this isn’t a story about reasonable. This is the true...

Now we all have learned that at the beginning of each day you are given your pages of the days work. For me that means I can figure out how I am going to utilize my crew and plan my day. The more I can get ahead of the company with pre-lighting the more time I can save production. And in film time is...

      Parasound gear and film makers

Latest press release from Parasound. I have a personal connection to this one, as I grew up in Colorado, and played sports with Columbine High School. The Columbine massacre really touched me, as I would imagine it did to all of us. I think I'm going to send a message the way of Andrew Robinson,...
