    Pan & Scan Alert

I purchased Spy Game at Walmart Saturday. When I got home I discovered it was full screen. I hadn't opened it so they accepted the return. They had about 30 Full Screen titles and only one widescreen. Yukk.

    Here's somthing different:
While cruising the Blockbuster rental section, they had about 50 copies of Spy Game. And all were widescreen. Go figure.

Same here George, unfortunately I thought they were just saying that it had a "Full Screen version" inclosed, I openned mine and "BAM"! I got caught. I was just looking through another rack this evening and Full Screen was all that was available. I began to think this was the only format released.

I complained to the sales clerk at Walmart but all I got was a blank look on his face.

It's because you mentioned the word "Wide Screen" to him.

This word is not taught at The Walmart University just yet 8O

After being burned a year or so ago, I started checking the back of the DVD case for the display information. It's a bit more thorough/accurate. Fortunately, my copy of Spy Game came from Best Buy where the fullscreen nonsense hasn't gone near as far.

            Here's a twist,

Had a friend buy Zulu cause he's a fan and it was only $4.00. He read on the back of the box and it said WideScreen Version. Later when he played it only the credits were wide screen the rest of the movie was PS.

            Good watching (sometimes)

Zulu-- now when are they going to do something good with this film on dvd ? All I have ever seen is a cheapie . Probably by the same label that Robbie is referring to. I refuse to buy it until they do a proper transfer, enhanced for widescreen.

No kiddin' George. Zulu deserves at least Superbit treatment if the masters are available.

All the copies of Spy Game at my rental store were Pan & Scan. Hopefully my wife won't want to rent it next weekend, or worse yet, rent it and then wonder why there's black bars, on the SIDES of the screen! (I have a 16:9 TV)

Well, Best Buy was having a sale today to coincide with the release of "Spy Kids 3D". If you buy this new movie, you can get Spy Kids 1 and 2 for $9.99 each. Seemed good to me.

Now, I haven't seen any of the Spy Kids movies, but I've heard they're good, and got some good reviews....

Considering this set. It's a 50" LCD HDTV monitor. I guess I have a couple of questions about whether it's the right move. Price is right at 3K. Wonder about going from a 60" to a 50" widescreen, whether my normal TV viewing will be handicapped to bad. I guess widescreen movies take...

Unfortunately I cant give a review as I was about to watch and low and behold its in Spanish (and hence subtitled). I was very disappointed because subtitles totally take me out of the movie experience. After all, I want to WATCH the movie, not read it (isnt that what books are for). The last movie...
