    Finally Watched Vertical Limit

I finally sat down and watched this DVD. What a pleasant surprise! After all the negativity I'd read in reviews and peoples' comments, I was expecting a stinker. It had a beautiful transfer, good DEEP bass (can you say nitroglycerin?) and lots of "Hold On!" moments. Now it'll never be confused with Citizen Cane as a landmark in cinema (especially with the acting skills of Bill Paxton), but it was most definitely a fun ride. I recommend a rental, at least!

    On a 1 to 10 scale, I give it a 7.

    Hmmm. About that Superbit . . . .

David, I'm with you on this one. It's a good movie. Much better than the reviews for sure. Not oscar, but enjoyable none the less.

I've watched this a couple of times. I understand they're bringing this out on Superbit, but I wouldn't bother with it. The picture on the original is reference quality as far as I am concerened. And the soundtrack rocks.

          Hi, CH.
I really meant to say I wouldn't buy the Superbit because I already owned the original and the picture on it was probably as good as the Superbit.

I'm in complete agreement, Mark. I find it's a white knuckle ride even after two viewings.

I picked it up last night. I know my neighbors are pissed, because I could not stop playing it (louder and louder). Night Train is an awesome cut.

I will have to go out and get more of this in my collection. Thanks for the tip!

This is an extremely well engineered disc. Vocals as well as instruments, sound very natural. Even the crowd noise seemed very real to me.

I am not quite as happy with the vocal performance. While the overall sound from the band is very nice, Ms. Krall just did not seem...

I have never watched a movie on a superbit disk, is it really all that much better than the original version of the movies? I have the zenith dvb318 with 1080i enabled an would watching a movie in superbit version really be that much better? Are there any other types of disks other than the superbit...

For a while now I've been kicking around the idea of picking up Hollow Man in Superbit as a video reference disk. Not long ago I saw several scenes from it on a professionally calibrated Sony FPJ (unfortunately I don't remember the model number) on a 100" or so screen at Bill Cushman's...

Francis Ford Coppola is a seriously "different" man. Now that I've gotten that out of the way, the image and sound of this DVD is flat outstanding vs. the original DVD. Excellent shadow detail - it'd
