The Bourne Legacy - great start, poor finish

I enjoyed the first half of this film a lot but the second half (after they landed in the Philippines) degenerated into a mindless series of chases and shoot-ups. It was like the studio had employed two screen writers. Or perhaps a studio bigshot visited the set at half time and insisted they dumb it down to improve the film's commercial potential?

    Nigel.

That pretty much sums it up for me, too, Nigel. And though Jeremy Renner did a fine job, I really want to see Matt Damon back as Jason Bourne.

I agree on the first half / second half idea. I like a good chase scene, but not a 45 minute one. I liked the references / tie-ins to the other movies.

Yes...that chase scene was a bit much for me too. I still liked the film though.

I think I would have probably liked it more if I wouldn't have seen the other movies. When watching it, me and myself kept saying, "It seems like we've seen this movie before".

I j haven't seen this, but to me, Matt Damon will always be Jason Borne. It was the role of his life, IMO. I'll probably watch the new one when it hits TV, or gets real cheap on DVD rack.

Well this guy didn't really replace Jason Bourne.

The title pretty much says that it is about Bourne`s legacy rather than about Bourne himself.
