Watched an older war movie last night...

It was THE YOUNG LIONS. released in 1958, it is based on a novel by Irwin Shaw. It was a bestseller in its time, and the film was hot at the boxoffice. It stars a young Marlon Brando, Montgomery Clift, and Dean Martin. It is more about character development and doesn't have a lot of actual war action scenes. Brando is a Nazi soldier and Clift and Martin are American soldiers. Each has their own particular story.

At just under 3 hours, it is a little tedious at times. If it were made today, it would probably be cut to two hours.Anyway, if you like a good story with war in the background, and if you want to see three of yesteryear's greats strut their stuff, you will like this film.
Note, though it is 2.35 anamorphic, it is in black and white, but a stunning blkack and white nonetheless.
It is definitely worth a rental, or a purchase if you are a fan, like me, of the three actors and the author.

Is this true ? Brando Dead according to CBS
    by George Bellefontaine
CBS says they learned Brando passed away Thursday. No cause of death was given but he was 80, so considering his weight, it probably was a heart or stroke thing. Wow, another great actor gone.

That's if the report is true.So far today I haven't heard anything about it on any of the major...

    RTS Real War
    by Bing Fung

Any thoughts on the RTS game "Real War"? I just downloaded the demo of it and may purchase the full game. Real war has the elements that I like, strategic gaming with modern day weapons. As much as I liked "Age Of Empires", I longed for a RTS game where it was not...

    Parasound and Martin Logans

I was in Seattle this past week, and just happened to see that Martin Logan was doing their US premier of their new flagship model, the CLX, at a Magnolia Hi-Fi there in Seattle. So I went, and was TOTALLY blown away by the performance. For a while now, I've thought that my next (and last) speaker...
