    Planet Of The Apes...okay until...

First off, the transfer of this baby is downright eye-popping, and the sound will give your sub a workout. The film starts off fine and I'm pretty much enjoying everything until the ending. I won't describe it for fear of spoiling it for others, but it was a real letdown. It seemed tacked on for shock value.I expected a lot better from Tim Burton.
But don't let this stop you from watching this baby. It's a good popcorn flick.

Although you may want to have a copy of this one just for the picture quality. The movie itself was mildly entertaining at best, but the quality of the transfer is reference caliber on my system.

Mine too,John. And even though I was disappointed in the Burton ending, I read a post in another ht site that this was closer to the author's ending in the novel.I never read the book so I can't comment.

From what I recall, this ending is almost the same as the original, in the point that it makes anyway.

            Frenzy's transfer
            by George Bellefontaine
I love this Hitchcock movie and hadn't seen it in years so I gobbled it up as soon as it became available on DVD. Watched it last night and was a little disappointed in the transfer.Unlike Vertigo, which was obviously restored, Frenzy had some dirst spots and marks that were obvious at times. I also...

Does anyone know if there is there any difference between the MGM and Warner versions of the DVD. The only difference I can find is the Warner remixed it in DD 5.1 (I didn't see where the MGM was done in 5.1) Both versions have P&S and WS versions. Is one transfer better than another?

            Rega Planet 2000?
            by migliore
I see Rega has release a new planet. Anyone heard/seen one? Does Rega have a website yet? I don't have much information on it. I've been quite happy w/ my 1998 Planet.

I think they also re-did the Jupiter/IO into a one-box solution - is this true?

            Thanks,

Hi there. Most people on this board seem to be interested in building speaker enclosures from raw MDF or plywood, whether the designs are their own or those of more experienced designers on the forum. I am going to try posting a hack to a commonly available commercial speaker. Not all of us have the...
