    Traffic.

WOW, what a movie, this is a wonderful bit of film making.
It has the feel of an indie.
There are about four seperate subplots going on here, all get flush out well.
There are three distinctly different feels to this movie, all brought on by use of lense filters.
There is a yellow filter used for all scenes shot in Mexico.
A blue filter used for...I couldn't figure it out, it was used alot, but I could not figure out why.
Lastly was the unfiltered, used I think for the family type shots, but again I'm alittle confused here as well.
Great movie, but I could have done without the blue filter.
This will be a musby for me!

The Last Great Traffic Jam and the end of an American legend
        by bigburner
I watched a great DVD over the weekend - "The Last Great Traffic Jam", which documents Traffic's 1994 tour of the USA. Traffic formed in the late 1960s and play a blend of rock, pop and folk.

The highlight of the DVD was definitely Steve Winwood's gifted musicianship. I've...

Just how important is "midrange" for a movie regarding 685 vs. 683?
        by jjahshik32
Hey guys I'm just curious as I've never owned floorstand speakers before and only monitor speakers and I'm very curious on just how important midrange is in a movie?

The 685's are great but I can afford a 683 at the most and I just want to know that I'm not missing out on anything from...

Active Cauer-Elliptic filter design in 20 minutes
        by BobEllis
In a couple of threads recently there has been some discussion as to how to create an active analog Cauer-Elliptic filter. I've made some up in a simulator and thought I'd share my results.

I haven’t got a clue how to run through the math to determine component values. Lancaster’s Active...

Exploring Common DIY Terminology - Bandpass (Crossover Filter)
        by technodanvan
        Bandpass (Crossover Filter)

A bandpass filter refers to an electronic circuit or signal processing technique used to limit the frequency range of an audio signal that is sent to a specific driver or set of drivers within a loudspeaker system. It is employed to ensure that each driver operates within its intended frequency range and to achieve a desired frequency response for the overall system. For the DIYer, a bandpass crossover filter would typically be seen in a 3-way loudspeaker...

        Oh Brother, Traffic, Wonder Boys,etc.
        by Bob
With the ASC awards and the Acadamy Awards coming up soon, I have been trying to work my way through all my DVDs of the potential nominees. I know that comedies don't usually fare well when it comes to award night but, I found my self replaying scenes from Oh Brother Where Art Thou and laughing out...
