The Last Great Traffic Jam and the end of an American legend

I watched a great DVD over the weekend - "The Last Great Traffic Jam", which documents Traffic's 1994 tour of the USA. Traffic formed in the late 1960s and play a blend of rock, pop and folk.

The highlight of the DVD was definitely Steve Winwood's gifted musicianship. I've always known Winwood as a great singer and keyboard player but I never realised that he played the guitar so well. I think he was a student of Clapton's way back.

There was one sad moment on the DVD. Jerry Garcia - Grateful Dead's legendary guitarist - makes a guest appearance in one song and looks old, unwell and lost. Sadly he died a few months after that appearance.

Ironically I saw Garcia the following day on the Rolling Stones "Gimme Shelter" DVD (1969) looking, surprise surprise, young and healthy.

Going to see Pearl Jam live tonight :W

So I guess I need a tie in for the section. Picked up the new CD BackSpacer Monday, not bad. I would give it a solid 8.5. The funny thing about their post Ten CD's is... I'm generally good with the majority of the songs on the CD, but then there...

    The Legend Of Zorro
    by David Meek
I saw a new (to me at least) trailer this weekend for the upcoming The Legend Of Zorro. It's a sequel to The Mask Of Zorro, and both stars - Antonio Banderas and Catherine Zeta Jones (woohoo!) - have returned to reprise their roles. You know how deceiving trailers can be, but it looks like it could...

    Legend of Zorro

Mask of Zorro was a great movie. Legend of Zorro which is the sequel is not.

The characters are the same but this time we get a completely ludicrious plot that drags out for 2 hrs and 17 minutes not to mention little action. There are only 3-4 action sequences otherwise the story plods...

    Legend TV audio

I have just bought an RV that came with a Legend TV set, which I have never heard of. For now I am connecting a Philips DVD player but the sound, although maximized on both the TV and the DVD player, is still very low. The TV and the DVD player are connected via HDMI cable, which seems to be the best...

With the ASC awards and the Acadamy Awards coming up soon, I have been trying to work my way through all my DVDs of the potential nominees. I know that comedies don't usually fare well when it comes to award night but, I found my self replaying scenes from Oh Brother Where Art Thou and laughing out...
