    Get Low

    From Netflix reveiw:

"Oscar winners Robert Duvall and Sissy Spacek team up to tell the true story of irascible Felix Bush, a backwoods Tennessee loner who planned his funeral in 1938 while he was still around to attend -- and enjoy -- the proceedings. Director Aaron Schneider's deft blend of dark humor and poignancy also stars Bill Murray as Frank Quinn, the huckster owner of a failing funeral home, and Lucas Black as his dubious assistant."

Robert Duvall observing his own funeral plus Bill Murray sounds like a comedy along the lines of Huck Finn or "Ned Devine". But, this isn't even a dark comedy. It is a performance driven drama. Robert Duvall is one of the few actors that can develop a character that is very low key and of few words yet, so fascinating that you can't get enough of him. One of Robert Duvall's best works.

    Highly reccomended.

Oh, yes, Bob, this is a must see for me. Duvall never disappoints.

      Mr. & Mrs. Smith--Hitchcock makes a comedy?!

Pulled another classic off the shelf last night. Hitchcock's only "straight comedy" (no murder, no mayhem), this stars the woman who defined "screwball comedienne"--Carole Lombard. Also starring Robert Montgomery, the story, style and comical moments are straight from the late 30s/early...

      Comedy Actor Leslie Nielsen, RIP
      by Chris D
Very sad. Leslie Nielsen, famous comedy star of many slapstick movies like "Airplane" and "Naked Gun", has died. I didn't realize he was 84. Everybody has their niche in life, and he did slapstick like nobody else could in the world. Fantastic, fantastic, stuff.
