    Matrix Revolutions

Picked up my copy on Friday and watched it the same night. Came away the same as I did when I saw it at the theater. Okay movie, not as good as the first two but it finished the series nicely. PQ of the DVD is top notch. Audio is okay with plenty of action coming out of all speakers. But just not the kick that the other two in the series offered. Its worthy of a purchase too complete the series or just wait for the boxset if you don't have the others.

    Jason!

I agree with you bud for the sound but this particular MAtrix was about the Matrix...the understanding of it....however disappointing it waas for me action wise it was rewarding story wise...

The fighting seens are becoming insane however..pointless...but hey for the effects I`ll watch em!

    Badabing bada bam!

I picked this up for a bargain at London Drugs the other day to finally complete the set. After the anti-climax at the theatre, I promised not to buy it at full price. But maybe we really do get what we pay for.

After watching it once, I noticed a weird audio "burp" around 00:14:10 into the movie, right at the edit point when the train with Saati and her family on board pulls away from the station. Had to scan back and forth a few times to make sure I heard it. I've already swapped it out at the retailer and the second disc also has it, plus I've checked on a second system and the "burp" is still there. Is this part of the sound track or did I get a dud? Maybe the whole pressing is bad? Should I just return it or keep exchanging until I good one?

      ensen.

Cool! And thanks. But don't sweat it if time is sparse... it's the holidays and there is much upgrade shopping to do. Besides, I'll probably get a chance to check out my sister's copy sometime on the 25th.

Nothing odd at 14:10. A few moments later, the subway train powers up with a bit of a rumble and then there is an "odd" sound just as the scene changes. Could that be it?

Hehe, my "check the sound" for just a moment turned into a 30-minute "watch the battle for the dock".

I got engrossed in watching the scene and had to watch it again to observe the timing. :>)

Yeah, 14:10 goes by with nothing unseemly sounding -- then at about 14:18, there is a scratchy "whump whump" when the train leaves the station and the scene changes. At that point, the perspective changes on the train, going to an overhead shot as it enters the tunnel, and that is where the sound effect occurs.

It does sound a little strange, but in watching the movie on this DVD a couple of times before, I had never noticed it. Even though I now know it is there, I don't plan to replace my copy of the disc because of it. I think that it is an intentional part of the soundtrack, not a defect.

Yeah, sorry. It's later than the time I quoted. I just noted the approximate time. The whump whump sound is a good way to describe it.

So, 3 copies from probably 2 different pressings with the same effect.

It could very well be intentional as the plot at that point is about the anomalous location between machine world and matrix and it may require a "burp" for the train to exit, whereas Neo only can only move from one end of the tunnel back into the other. Still, it's a very weird SFX that doesn't have a correllating visual.
