Just watched this one, based on strong ratings and that portions are set in the Alaska wilderness.
I was really touched by this movie, mostly about the human condition. I could feel the pain of the main character, although I get the strong impression that he was even more messed up than really let on by the movie, or portrayed by the actor.
Some GORGEOUS scenes in the movie, especially the Alaskan wilderness. Those who watch this movie (or a few other choice films set in Alaska) might start to understand why I love it so, and choose to live there. Much of the soundtrack is also special songs created by Eddie Veder (of Pearl Jam fame) which troubingly fit the movie very well.
Not a perfect movie; the emotional and intellectual mood of the story was well-played, but not quite perfect. Overall, very well done, and I would recommend this movie to just about anyone. Very little to none of gratuitous violence, bad language, or sex.
I rate :4: out of :5:
