    District 9

    Back again

So I watched district 9 today. Daughter had seen it and didn't like it, had heard much about it... Most suggested it wasn't what they thought it would be like. That was true for me yes and no, basically had no expectation. Ok it was an Ok movie. Ok acting, ok story, kinda full of holes if your ask me.

It wavered one way and then the other, very cliche (not sure intentional or not) almost could have alomost been Hot Fuzz'esqe with just a little work in that direction.

I was actually most facinated with District 9 area set. Not sure a set or what but it could pass for many places in the world I think. :E

Not sure what the buzz was all about, not that good. I think maybe some people latched on to the (oddly enough) humanistic aspect?

Yeah, there is a thread on this film in AT THE MOVIES. You may want to go there see what others have said about it.

I thought it was good from a metaphorical aspect.

I'm just going to bump this up.

I quite enjoyed the movie. And although there are plot holes, I found the mockumentary style fine.

However I did watch this right after watching Skyline, which was terrible. So that may have influenced my opinion.

I doubt I'll go for a repeat viewing as there wasn't anything compelling that would bring me back.

One plot hole was the black liquid. They spent 20 years searching for the stuff, then Wikus goes and sprays it on himself, and therefore there is less of the liquid left. Shouldn't that make the whole escape attempt pointless?

I guess my post on the movie was in the other movie thread. Enjoyed it, hoping they'll make District 10. Paul, I also found a plothole or two.

Well, we're safe for now. Thank goodness we're in a bowling alley.
