    Changeling

Clint Eastwood directed/produced movie set in 1928 in Los Angeles starring Angelina Jolie. Complex story based on a true incident about a kidnapping and a twist involving the corruption plagued police departments' investigation and their resultant abuse of power.

    Well acted/directed dramatic movie.

Well, I finally got around to watching it last night. One helluva powerful movie with a great performance by Angelina Joli. The movie begins in 1928 and the power the LAPD had at that time was downright scary. Eastwood knows how to craft a suspenseful movie and even though the film ran close to 2 and a half hours, I was hooked from beginning to end.

Saw it on BD and the quality was quite good. Colors are a bit muted and appear to have been done purposely. Also, be sure your tv/projector is calibrated properly for blacklevels because ol' Clint likes to play with light and shadow with the camera.

Highly recommended, but in my case as a rental. Knowing how the film ends now, I just can't see myself sitting through it again. Some scenes, involving a serial killer and some youngsters, are also very hard to watch.

Watched this last night. A good film from Eastwood, but it doesn't pack the same punch as his best (this is not to say I did not like it, merely that Eastwood has made some seriously good films as a director). The period detail was spot on and the acting was great (Malkovich's performance impressed me quite a bit). Perhaps a little too predictable in its unfolding, but overall a fine film.
