    The Flock...oh, my...

What a downbeat messy suspense thriller this is. Richard Gere works for The Department Of Public Safety, whose job it is to stay in contact with, and always know where convicted sexual predators live . He is obsessed with this job, and one case in particlar that haunts him because a young girl victim's body was never found. His obsession with these people ( who he calls his flock ) get him in trouble with his boss and he is forced into early retirement. But not before he must break in his replacement,Clare Danes. Well, she is horrified by some of his antics at first, but comes to understand the reasons for his obsession as the story progresses. Some of these sex predators made my stomach churn, and some of the images did the same. Not a film for everybody, and I wouldn't want to watch it again. It's downright nasty and depressing to watch at times. I wanted to take a shower after the movie ended.

Well, despite its subject matter, it has Claire Danes and that makes it almost an automatic rental for me. Are you saying you regret watching it (it's clear you don't want to see it again but it's unclear if you're recommending people avoid it).

I try to avoid not recommending films because we all have different tastes. In this case I am merely saying that I found the plot rather messy and the subject matter and how it is handled left me feeling uneasy at times. I'm not sorry I rented it, but I just wouldn't want to see it again. There are many films I can take once, but not twice. As for Clare Danes, she is excellent in this film.

No, the book you read was science fiction.

Down In The Valley a western of sorts
              by George Bellefontaine
It is an independent film, written and directed by David Jacobson, starring Edward Norton ( who also co-produced with help from the Sundance Foundation ), David Morse, Evan Rachel Wood and Rory Culkin.

Norton's character is a delusional drifter who thinks he's a cowboy in a present day...

It wasn't bad at all. I really enjoyed it.
I read a lot of the reviews before I went out to see it (even though I was going to watch it regardless :B). A lot of of reviews mentioned it was ok, pretty good, not as good as the first, or just a B movie. Those are the things I read. When I left...

              PREDATORS (2010) quite good
              by George Bellefontaine
Adrien Brody and some others are dropped mysteriously into the jungle of an unknown planet and must fight for survival when they realize they are being hunted by Predators. Doesn't call for a lot of acting on Brody's part, but he carried off the role of an action hero quite well. Lots of action and...

              by George Bellefontaine
Ovation`s post on a Hitchcock classic reminded me of this movie on Hitchcock so I watched it last night.

This partial bio stars Anthony Hopkins as Hitch and Helen Mirren as his wife . It is based on a book that dealt with the making of Psycho. Also stars Scarlett Johnasson as Janet Leigh...

NINE not everyone's cup of tea
              by George Bellefontaine
Wife didn't like. Thought it dragged too much, and it probably did. Overall, though, I quite enjoyed it myself. Nine is based on the Broadway musical, sort of based on the life of Italian filmmaker, Frederico Fellini and his obsession with women both behind the camera and in the boudoir. Penelope Cruz...
