I saw this late last night while flipping channels. Incredible film. One of Heath Ledger's finest. He and Abbie Cornish (Elizabeth: The Golden Age, Stop-loss) play addicts in love, and the film documents the downward spiral of their relationship. Powerful stuff.

I was surfing and saw a bit of this last night. It was well into the film so I didn't stay long (in order not to spoil it). Was that Geofrey Rush that I saw, too?

Yep. He plays a supporting role as a supplier of heroin, and good advice. He sums up heroin use quite succinctly.

Student Film year three and four

Years three and four there was no more filming. Now it was up to the editor to make something of this mess. The Director built a house for the editor and his family on the Directors compound so they could work together everyday. The editor was one of the best in the business with many Academy nominations...

        I saw 2001: A Space Odyssey projected from 70mm!
        by Patrick Sun
2001: A Space Odyssey was projected in 70mm at the Fox Theater last night in Atlanta.

Sheesh, this is what I endured to get to the Fox theater:

        1. Pouring rain during the drive in town to the Fox.
        2. Looking for parking in a humongous downpour, the streets were...

How much should a student first time film cost?
        by oldbob
In answer to my own question, I would say between $10,000 and $40,000 dollars. It used to be more but digital has drastically lowered the cost while at the same time making it much easier to produce a professional look.

However, this isn’t a story about reasonable. This is the true...
