    There Will Be Blood

If you want to see great cinematography and the always excellent acting of Mr. Lewis you can give this one a shot. But personally I found the story to be plodding, incoherent and un-engaging. It was like watching an old west/oil barren version of "New World"... another beautiful, well acted, plodding, un-engaging film.

At least New World's soundtrack wasn't as detached as this is. This one makes only slightly more sense than soundtrack of Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette.

Wait for the weekly rental section if you must see it.

A friend of mine purchased this movie and we watched it.

I must say, the next day I went out an got my own copy. I really enjoyed the movie and thought it was fantastic.

The kid that plays Eli is either a weirdo in real life or an amazing actor.

Accurate review. Odd movie. I wanted to care about the characters, especially the son, but the storyline and its' presentation wouldn't allow me to get involved.
I was hoping the ending would redeem the rest of the movie and make me feel like I hadn't wasted 2 hours of my life but it was disappointing as well.

Acting was good and the era and atmosphere seemed to be realistically depicted. (Kind of like the feel of Eastwood's "Unforgiven", but I liked that movie and its' story, although I know many people who did not).

              Grade: C-

                Couldn't have said it better.

I kept watching hoping that the story will take a turn/ twist/ become exciting but then it just ended leaving me dumb. :M

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Daniel Day Lewis is excellent as a real human character with strengths and foibles. The main drawcard for me was the historical accuracy, you really got a sense of how life was back in that time. The oil discovery and drilling scenes were fascinating.

I thought DDL was pretty good, but I thought it was going to have more intensity, or edge or something. It was an Ok watch, but don't know what all the hype was about movie wise.

I liked it, but not a movie I'll watch much more than maybe a second time with my projector setup in blu-ray. I thought DDL was fantastic though. He is one of my all time favorite actors.

Just got around to renting this on Blu-ray. The cinematography, as already stated, was downright breathtaking. As for the story, well it certianly moved at a snail's pace, but typical of character-driven films. Daniel Day Lewis is something else. He loses himself completely in every role he takes on. You don't look at Daniel, you look at the character, whether it's the heroic Hawkeye in Last Of The Mohicans, or Daniel, the obsessive man-without-a-conscience in There Will Be Blood. His performance was well worth the 2 1/2 hours of my time, and when he uttered those final lines, " I'm finished ", it summed everything up perfectly.

I watched this great movie (via Netflix) yesterday while home sick with the flu. I could not agree more with you, Sir George. Absolutely stunning in all regards.

Not a film that would generate popular appeal, but for me, it contained every element I look for any film.

Eli ( Denzel Washington ) has a very special book in his possession and has been charged with the responsibility of delivering the book to a location in the west. But one man ( Gary Oldman ), who knows what type of book Eli is carrying, wants it badly and will do anything to gain possession of it....

Would you spend an extra $10 - $12 dollars on top of the DVD price if the soundtrack was included? Just like a flipper DVD, you could have the movie on one side and the soundtrack on the other.

Some movies I would really like this option, such as Almost Famous. I've also heard the Finding...
