    Netflix or Blockbuster?

    Hello All,

How do you rent your DVDs?

I use both, BB for SD & Netflixs for bul-ray. BB is $20 a month & Netflix is $15. Wow, after taxes I spend $40 a month on renatals :E
It's still cheaper than buying everything IMHO.

    I use the local Blockbuster. I don't rent on-line.

Same here but I am not happy about it. Until last month, we had a local, independent video rental shop that had an excellent stock, low prices and a sentient staff. They closed because of Netflix and BB on-line-services. Now we are limited to the only other shop in town, BB, and I find their prices much higher and their staff unreliable (most are ignorant and only 1, so far, responds intelligently). Sigh.

I only use Netflix. We'll see what happens with the rumor that they're going to raise prices for BD rentals.

I use both as well... I do love the fact that I can exchange the online rental for BB in-store ...it seems I get more for my buck.

I use Netflix. Can't complain. Turnaround time is rarely more than 2 days. Though that depends on your location. If they do raise HD fees, I'll leave. It's not a money thing, just that I reject gouging early adopters on principle. Hopefully BB will not do the same.

What are you watching from your Netflix/Blockbuster/Redbox queue?
              by Chris D
I thought this might be an interesting thread. A lot of us are continually cycling flicks through our players, rented from Netflix, Blockbuster, or others. And yet somehow, I still can't seem to get my Netflix queue below the 500 max limit! Every time I watch a chunk of movies and drop my queue numbers,...

Netflix, Blockbuster, other DVD renting companies

I checked, and didn't really see any other threads that had a good discussion of these services, so I thought I'd start one for everybody to chime in.

For a while, now, I have NOT signed up with DVD rental companies, primarily for the reason that as I travel a lot with my job, I didn't...

Blockbuster vs. Netflix for Blu-ray rental?
              by maseline_98
We currently have blockbuster. I like the service because we are able to exchange them in the store. The problem is that our closest store is closing this Sunday. When renting through the mail, the blu-rays(at least new releases) seem to take much longer to get than we would like(usually with a 'very...

How long is your Netflix or Blockbuster queue? (and how many movie have you rated?)
              by Chris D
I signed up for Netflix about 9 months ago, and have steadily been putting in all my ratings for movies that I've seen. When you do all the numbers, it's pretty amazing.

              - So far, I've rated 1,639 movies. As I come across or think of movies I've seen, I go to Netflix and rate them....
