    Enchanted is enchanting

I've never been much of a Disney fan even as a kid, but I have to say, Enchanted was a delightful experience. This is another one the wife wanted to see so, still awe struck by hi-def, I rented it in Blu and watched it with her. I really couldn't remember seeing Amy Adams before, but after checking her bio I realized I had seen her in at least a couple of films, the most notable, for me at least, being Drop Dead Gorgeous. Well I was pretty taken with her and feel she will be going places. Not only can she act. She is easy on the eyes and can sing.

It started out in animation and I was thinking, Oh, Oh, will I have to watch all of this ? But then things switch from animation to real life and the fun started. In the end, I just found this a nice little feel good movie that made you chuckle often, and in the case of the chipmunk, laugh your ass off. Go rent it, or buy it if you have kids, and enjoy yourself.

BTW, the picture on Blu is amazing, and the audio is something else again.

Yes, I really enjoyed it too. I remember seeing the previews at the theater and thinking it would be a movie to avoid, but, after reading some very positive reviews and with a little arm twisting by one of my daughters, I watched it this weekend and loved the movie, especially through the part where she decides to clean the apartment.

As far as Amy Adams, she is amazing good and comes off completely natural in a role that is probably a lot harder to carry off than one might think. And, so George might not feel alone in this, I told my wife I found her one of the most attractive actresses I've ever, well, admired (she took no offense). She lights up the screen for each and every moment she's on. I could have done with less chipmonk and prince and more Amy.

Agreed, I enjoyed this movie too. Maybe not 5 stars, but I did really like it, especially for the genre.

And again, agreed that Amy Adams is quite the looker. She's a pretty good actress, too.

(EDIT: I thought she was the one in "Wedding Crashers"... was someone else)

Hey, you know what I just realized? Amy and I went to high school together! http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0010736/ and check out her bio here:

Douglas County High School, in Castle Rock, Colorado... I remember her being in choir, and I'm pretty sure drama, too, (I wasn't in those... I was a band geek) acting in plays. Very pretty girl. Looks like she was born into a military family, too, at Aviano in Italy. Cool stuff.

Doesn't count you don't have any dirty little secrets :B

You know its funny how things like that work out. My best friend back in AZ went to school with Xzibit. Not sure you guys know who that is but he's a rapper guy. Anyways he was telling me they had a talent show one year and Xzibit went on stage to sing and something happened and everyone was laughing at him and he ran off stage crying. Not what you'd think of a famous rapper doing.

Wow. That's way cooler than my "went to high school with a celebrity" experience. I went to high school with Mike O'Malley (he of the short lived "Mike O'Malley Show" followed with a run on the less than entertaining, IMO, "Yes, Dear"). Of course, it would have been impossible for Amy Adams to have been in high school with me (quite apart from the age gap) as it was an all-male school (it is now co-ed, but no such luck back then).

Oh, and for the record, (since George asked it of Chris)...there was no fooling around with Mike in the back seat of MY car (nor his his). :E

Nah, can't really say that she paid me much attention, much less any dating or anything.

So we had a family outing to the movies today - we went to see Disney's Enchanted.

It's highly entertaining and just as enjoyable for the grown ups as well as the little ones - a rare thing these days.

Disney really hit the nail on the head by counterbalancing their take...

I don't know the name of this film right off. But let's start with the fact it is based on a true story.

So, spoiler alert if anybody wants to watch a movie like this, not knowing the name, it involved hiking, a young couple, and on/off course day and night time hiking and camping. Stop...

I'm always on the lookout for interesting new music, but it's not very often I find an accomplished artist with as deep a repetoire as Jonatha Brooke, that somehow I've never stumbled across.

A friend from Missouri out here on business brought one of her early CD's "Grace in Gravity"...
