Ohhh... good thread!
Sorry Paul, but everything you mentioned except LOTR and the new Star Wars are all before 2000.
Good picks though.
I'll have to agree with Lord of the Rings, Transformer is simply one of the best action films I've ever seen. The first Matrix was awesome, but I can't say 2 and 3 are up to par.
10... that's hard. I've already thought of...
- Transformer (of course!)
- Lord of the Ring trilogy
- Matrix
- Monsters Inc.
- Blades of Glory
- Spiderman
- Gladiator
- 300
- V for Vendetta
- Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (one of my 3 favorite movies)
- Kill Bill (absolute coolest movie ever!)
- Dreamgirls (hidden movie, but great singing!)
- Napoleon Dynamite
- Pirates of the Caribbean
I'm counting 14... don't know which 4 I would kick out.B&W 804S/Velodyne SPL-1000R/Anthem MRX720- Bottom

Yeah sorry... I have to agree with Doug as well. But regardless, he's looking for everyone's best 10 since 2000.Originally posted by Dougie085League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen? I hated that movie...:BB&W 804S/Velodyne SPL-1000R/Anthem MRX720- Bottom

Love Hitchhikers, but I have read all 6 books in the trilogy.Originally posted by SoundgravyThe Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
LEG.... Yeah, I have to agree with others. There are very few movies we have stopped before the end, and if the couple we invited for movie night hadn't picked it out this would have been one of them. (The Avengers and the new Halloween are the other two popular ones I can think of)
As far as the list. Here are the 10 I picked out from what we own:
Amelie (Great movie, watch it even if you hate sub-titles)
Before Sunset (First one 'Before Sunrise' was better, but made in 95)
The Count of Monte Cristo (The original praised in another movie below)
Donnie Darko (Leaves a lot of questions with no answers)
Fight Club (Wife hates it, I can't get enough)
Kill Bill Vol 2 (First was good, but just a setup for this awesome film)
Love Actually (Christmas, chick flick, damn funny movie)
Shaun of the Dead (British comedy and zombies.... That's all that needs to
be said)
Sin City (Can you even describe this movie? Unique and great)
V for Vendetta (Unique and great like Sin City, but in color)

Horrible acting horrible CGI horrible stunts everything looked completely fake. It wasn't like comic book cheesy it was like 1000 dollar movie budget cheesy. At least this is how I felt about it. I was actually expecting good things from the movie and was horribly disappointed.- Bottom

Kevin, I'll have to check out half of the movies you mentioned. To be honest, I haven't even heard of some of them. And you're right.. Matrix was 1999. I didn't even hear about it until 2000.. probably why I thought it was 2000.
But... ha ha.. that was pretty funny that you got called out for Speed Racer.

Serenity-but you'll have to spend $20 and buy the full (only) season of Firefly to watch first. The series and movie may be the best $30 I ever spent on video entertainment. (Got the movie from Blockbuster , used , for $10!)
In fact , I'm going to bail out of here and watch a few episodes now , while the neighbors are gone and I can actually use my sub!Lee

Most of my top 10 has already been listed, more like top 25, so I'll list some ones I liked that were not yet mentioned. Technically, there are more than 10.
Black Sheep (2006-2007) Like Shaun of the dead with Killer Zombie Sheep.
Clerks 2
All 3 Pirates' movies
House of 1000 Corpses
Devils Rejects
Halloween (2007) These last 2 are, IMO, 2 of the greatest horror movies. Corpses is good and sets up for Rejects.
28 Days Later I haven't seen 28 Weeks yet (still)
Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle A basic feel good movie
From Hell This would be great even without Johnny Depp. He tries to catch Jack the Ripper
Requiem For a Dream- Bottom
