    Astronaut Farmer

Billy Bob Thornton is Farmer, a NASA astronaut who was discharged after he passed up on a flight because he had to put his family first and save the family farm. But he never gave up on his dream to go into space and he sets out to build his own spaceship with full intentions to take it into space. The irony is that by following his dreams, the very thing he gave up the space flight for is threatened again: his family and the family farm.
This is a nice little inspirational film ( never give up on your dreams ) that I really liked. Could it really happen ? Probably not, but Thornton makes you believe it could. Virginia Madsen is excellent as the wife, and there is a really nice cameo part ( uncredited ) played by Bruce Willis as Thornton's friend from their NASA days. This is a pleasant 100 minute film that will leave you feeling good.

      George,

OK, now tell us the REAL story. Where is the shoot out staged between the good guys and the outlaws -- in front of scenic crested buttes or outside the saloon, and at what point in the film does the US Cavalry, led by John Wayne, come to the rescue of the settlers? :>)

For me it was a rental. Once you know what happens you likely won't want to watch it again for sometime. Could be a different case for others, though.

It's holidays here and have had a bit of a rainy day ... so we (the family) hunkered down & watched this enjoyable, feel-good dvd. Provided one does not become too analytical, I loved the movie's message about not giving up on your dreams. Enjoyed. :T

              Suggestions needed for NASA project!
              by impala454
I have a small side project I'm going to be working on here at NASA, and it involves giving our sims (I work on the simulators) a little upgrade in sound quality, and actually adding sound to another sim. There's a few things I need to know about that I'm not completely familiar with, and also would...

THE JOHNSON FAMILY VACATION, yuk yuk yuk
              by George Bellefontaine
              ... NOT.

I was in the mood for renting a comedy for Saturday night. After reading the jacket on The Johnson Family Vacation, starring Cedric The Entertainer and Vanessa Williams, this looked like a good one. Unfortunately it wasn't.

Every year Cedric attends a family reuinion....

              B&W CCM 817 family
              by mjt444
I'm remodeling my family room and will need to use in ceiling surrounds. I am considering the B&W CCM 817 used. What speakers would be timbre matched with these? Does it even matter on in ceiling surrounds?

I'm considering new 685s for L/R and the HTM62 for center. Or should...

              The Family Man
              by Lex
I jst watched an old time favorite for me at holidays. The Family Man with Nicholas Cage and Tia Leoni'. I just loved Tea Leoni, and wished I could see more of her movie roles, or were there not that many? I guess I relate to this movie, because I feel a lot of the emotions Cage does being alone,...

              Hi all,

Its been a while since I have been by. The basement theater project has been put on hold so I decided to tackle the family room first. I will post some pics as soon as everything is in and installed but here's the basics:
