Rented this one over the weekend. PQ and SQ was really good. The only actor I was familiar with was Jeremy Irons. But never-the-less an OK movie, with Dragons and magic. Listened to this in DTS. It has a lot of big deep bass, and will test your subs.

I enjoyed this flick as well, moreso when I learned the book was written by a teenager. I liked the connection between a dragon and its rider.
On a side while I was watching it I couldnt help but draw a lot of comparisons to Star Wars. Then again the core story of Star Wars (young boy rises from nowhere to save the princess while getting help from a mentor along the way) is a theme used in many stories.
I wonder when the next installment will come out?- Bottom

I agree, its only a way of showing a census but i was surprised to see that the highest rating to this movie 6.1 was given by females under 18 and one of the lowest 4.7 was by males between 18-29.Originally posted by PezRatings dont mean a whole lot to me - how do those people know what I like. Sometimes its worth watching a "bad" movie as you never know when you will find a gem.Need is the mother of all Inventions.....I am needy- Bottom

Rented ( thankfully) and watched it over the weekend. Maybe Lord Of The Rings caliber fantasy films has me spoiled, but really I didn't find Eragon all that good. With the exception of John Malkovich and Jeremy Irons, and the bad wizard, whose name I've forgotten, the players were unknown to me. And John and Jeremy really didn't have a lot of screen time, though they did lift things a bit when they were up there. And the cgi did seemed a little overcooked on occasion, and the dragon at other times didn't seem at its proper scale. Oh, well, I have to say the audio made up for things for me. Man, there was some serious low end there, really giving my Energy subs a workout.- Bottom

This is not as bad as I had read, but not one I will watch again in the near future even though I bought it. What did make the price worthwhile was the stunning New Line transfer and a truly exciting sountrack with good surround ( with my 7.1 speaker setup it almost sounded like 5.1 EX) and real thumping...-
