    Crank

Best action film I have seen in years.

This is what action films should be like.
Should post a picture of this in Merriam-Webster under the title.

Gonna' go and buy this. :T

Watched it on Blu-ray last night. Great movie action all the time, funny too. Amy Smart, you can't go wrong there either. Oh yeah the Blu-ray in 1080p was incredible.

I like Jason Statham so this is likely a "buy-now" for me. From Nick's opinion, I'll probably buy it directly...

What the fcuk was it, couldnt have been much worse. At first I thought its a action movie, but hold it you can also call it as a comic movie or even a soft porn.

I think the director/producer came straight from making a porn movie and started making this one. It looks like one amatuer movie.

Couldnt have been more wierd, watch it at your own risk.

Saurabh - Bummer, sorry you didn't like it. I thought the story and cinematography were great. I also appreciated the dry british humor of the lead actor. Oh, and who doesn't love female nudity?

It's a Lionsgate film. Edgy and often "weird".

I watched it tonight, not quite as good as I had hoped, but still a keeper. I also enjoyed the story and the creative ways he finds to stay alive.

I can see Saurabh's point, I think it's a love it or hate it flick.

That was the second best part of the movie. First best part was the end of the taxi scene. It was pretty good. No where as good as the Transporter. It was like... one big 30 minute action-packed tv show. I couldn't believe how short it was. But I enjoyed it. Don't regret buying, but I know some will.

I loved so many parts of this film. There were only a couple scenes where it slowed down, everything else was GO GO GO!

Watched it twice yesterday, the action was ok, camera angles were great, and there were alot of little jokes and humor in the film I found.
The first time I watched it alone there were parts i was laughing out loud and clapping and cheering ( for those that have seen it, know what part im talking about)

Put me down, most firmly...in the hate it camp.I was so dissappointed,I feel like calling Mr.Stratham up and demanding he issue me my rental fee.And I liked his other movies...
But this......there was nothing I liked about this movie and many things I hated.
From the monotonous soundtrack to the idiotic outdoor sex scene. And then...just when I thought it could not sink to a lower level, there's the oral sex during a car chase.
Not what I had in mind watching with my young teens....
I thought it was going to be something on the lines of the Transporter flicks...
                              I hated his character,the soundtrack...the premise,the ending...
The only good thing I say about this movie...thankfully it was only 87 minutes long.
I hated this movie so much....it has poisoned me for his future releases.

I didn't really like those two scenes either, they drug that part out to long.

The rating information though did explicity mention sexuality and nudity as part of the offending issues...

                                      Thanks David...and it's Herm,by the way.....

And yes,Nicholas it does say those things on the box...nudity yes,but soft-core porn is not mentioned.
I am not a prude...but it just all added to my dislike of the film.Especially since the sex was not erotic, nor funny or needed in an action film.
I was on the verge of really liking Mr.Stratham as an action hero....for me to see his next film,it will have to have 5 star ratings from everyone.

This film actually angered me....but I see some of you guys liked it,so....that's why we have chocolate and vanilla ice cream. It was just not my flavor....

Yeah thats very true, the movie just didnt make any sense to me, no matter how much I try. There were so many things which were not required neither made any sense in the storyline.

Snatch,I did enjoy...in fact, that and Kalifornia are probably my two favorite Brad Pitt films.

One last thing on Crank, and then I will give it a rest.....
What also bothered me about this film is the violence....to me there are different degrees of violence. In the Transporter films, the violence was almost comedic...like a Jackie Chan movie. You know when Jackie slaps everyone around and slithers thru tight spaces and so on....
Like in one of the Transporter movies where Jason Stratham flips over the oil barrel as all the bad guys are coming...and they are all slipping around and no on can get a hold of him because of the slickness, and then he starts to chop everyone up...with his hands and feet.
But in this movie...there were no martial arts, and to me...just needless violence, such as fingers being blown off...
To me Stratham went from being a Jackie Chan like martial artist to making a semi slasher, soft core porno flick and playing a non-likeable character.

                                            But,something else I liked...he did have a great car.A 68 Buick Riviera...I always wanted one of those.

The main character was quite likeable to me!

I don't think "Soft-core Porn" is a descriptive rating used by the cinematic oppressors either. I really don't see the difference between the two above mentioned scenes and the ones included in say "The Godfather" at the wedding, or even in The Matrix (whichever one that is... I think III).

This film definetly wasn't Transporter III, and it wasn't intended to be.

The film revolved around living in the moment, and making do with the time one has. The violence/gore and action scenes (along with corny/funny lines) were similar to those used in the old B grade movies and Tarantino films. I found the overall feel to be similar to that of the Kill Bill films (another pair of my favorite action films).

Anyhoo, everyone obviously has their own opinion. Mine is that it was the best action film I've seen in a long time. Picked up the widescreen edition at Walmart! :T

Watched it last night and found it enjoyable enough. There were a few things I didn't like, such as the jerky camera thing ( worse than Tony Scott ) and the off tone coloring at times, but overall I was glad I bought it. It was just under 90 minutes and really went fast.

Just watched it. Not a big fan of it, I would describe it as "amusing". The direction seems to be half Guy Ritchie, half Quentin Tarantino.

The odd direction style, music, jerky camera moves, and adrenaline pacing is, as I said, amusing, but not my cup of tea. (or epenephrine) Seemed to be directed towards drug-users and enthusiasts. (certainly NOT a comment on anyone who may like it though)

Expected a lot from it because of Jason Sathom and the rave reviews, but less than half was deserved.
Whole movie was done in like gaming/GTA style, maybe the director is a big fan of it. But not me
The last scene reminds me of they ran out of budget or something happened to the movie.
