American Dreamz ???????

I wanted to like this little comedy but somehow it came across flat even though it had some pretty good actors in Dennis Quaid, Willem Dafoe, Hugh Grant and Mandy Moore. American Dreamz is a tv show, modelled after American Idol, and the show's host is Hugh Grant, modelled after Simon Cowell, and Dennis Quaid is the bumbling, possibly mentally distrubed US President, modelled after, well you know who, and Willem Dafoe as the vice prez who is pulling Quaid's strings. Mandy Moore is a cute gal from the midwest destined to win the contest and... well there are terrorists who plan to have one of the contestants ( a terrorists who becomes Americanized ) blow up the President who is a guest judge on the show,and there is Mandy's boyfriend ( whom she no longer loves) who goes to Iraq comes back and... well if any of this has interested you so far, you may want to rent the vid. I'm not sorry I did, I guess I was just expecting more than I got.

I saw this at the theaters and agree 100%.

The only good thing was that I went and saw Thank You for Smoking the next night to erase the memory. Now, that movie floated my boat.
