Tears of the Sun - Director's Cut

Has anyone seen this one yet? WSR gave it their highest rating for sound quality. They clearly stated that the Director's Cut was more than a notch above the previous version. No DTS though. Here are some excerpts:

"The Dolby® Digital 5.1-channel soundtrack is really incredible. The recording quality overall is excellent, and certainly on par with the best productions of today. There’s simply very little, if anything to criticize about this sonic presentation."

"The music score is fantastic in fidelity, spatial imaging, and low-end foundation."

"And then, of course, there’s an unbelievable amount of deep bass throughout this movie. Expect all of your loudspeakers to get a full blast of sub-50 Hz energy and the LFE channel to be activated often and aggressively."

"This is far and away one of the best-produced soundtracks to date." (Gary Reber)

Oh now you've done it. I've been trying to be good. Honest.

But, I'm going to have to check this one out. Thanks Adam. :T

I have the original release and have watched it about three times now. It has a pretty darn good 5.1 track as is, so I won't be bothering with the new edition.

          Patt,

I think "Tears of the Sun" is a must see film. And easily, the best work that Bruce Willis has done to date.

I've been meaning to buy this and never got around to it so, the Director's Cut is a no brainer for me.

Like John, I have a very high opinion of this film and on top of that, I own the original version which will be replaced today.

I rented this movie quite some time ago, and I absolutely loved it!

This is a very intense, dramatic and at times......emotional movie. My eyes watered up during certain scenes. I shed some tears.

I've been waiting for the Directors Cut, hence why I never bought the first DVD release.

I encourage anyone to see this movie.
                Tony

You know, sometimes the advertising whiz’s drop the ball. I really think they did that in this case. I concluded from the trailers and TV promos that Tears of the Sun was another Bruckheimerish overblown Armageddon / ConAir/The Rock/Insert Big-Unbelievable-But-Fun-Action-Flick here.
