Fireman drama with Jaquin Pheonix and John Travolta.

I thought that Pheonix was a weakpoint in the film and it can be quite predictable. Travolta was pretty mundane too.

Not a bad film, not a great one either.

PQ and SQ looked good though.

I liked the movie. I didn't really watch it to be critical of the acting, I watched it because my father has been a firefighter for 30 years. It is just remarkable what they do.

Neither did I but the story almost demanded that you feel for Pheonix's character and he couldn't pull it off. The other parts were rather good though. The non-hollywood ending was rather nice too.

Rented It.

Went into this with very low expectations and was suprised somewhat. I thought it was a completely decent movie, but not good enough to win my $15. Definetly worth a watch.

Worst movie I've seen all year....

I couldn’t finish this film, I tried, but the dialog was just too bad and unbelievable. Did anyone else notice that when they were wearing the full face masks that their voices sounded like they were recorded in a studio with a drink in one hand, I mead it totally killed the believability of the action scenes, their voiced were so clear an un-stressed. Not only was the studio voice dubbed in so unrealistically, but the actual dialog was totally unbelievable and over dramatic, I'm sure a real fireman would not go wandering through a burning building screaming for his friend in such a dramatic fashion, which brings me to another point, why scream, they had a VOX system built into their helmets... Well I could go on all day about the flaws that killed any semblance of reality, but I wont.

Just watched last night.... it...was....okay. Not great, just okay for a renter. Certainly would not recommend buying this. Backdraft still wins out (as unbelievable as it is....it's WAY more entertaining).

I appreciated what they tried to do and the non-standard ending was a good touch but it still had a movie of the week....3rd watch type feel to it.
