    What Did you watch?

Its always nice to have a thread with a bunch of reviews so I'll start. I was travelling for work so I didn't watch much.

Van Helsing - Sucked. I'm sure everyone has seen this by now. If you haven't... Don't bother, glad I borrowed it from someone.

Day after Tomorrow - Pretty good, I like the disaster movies. If you liked Astroid, Deep Impact, Armagedon type movies you'll like this one.

Dawn of the Dead - I had low expectations on this one and it turned out to be a a Great film! I was shockingly entertained! Well worth the rental.

What have you guys seen latley?

Watched CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK tonight, hummm, not what I expected (after giving high praises to PITCH BLACK). I think the story was there but not well played out. Casting could have been better, although, the audio was very, very good! Need to start a new thread on this, see what others think

HEY!! Why buy movie tickets when you can own a Theater?

Hi, Mike. There are various comments on most of the titles you mentioned in separate threads here under DVD Director.

I also watched Chronicles Of Riddick last night, Uncle Clive, and my comments are under the Riddick thread.

George, I'm interested in your opinion on Stepford Wives. It was showing on my last flight up to the Island and.... Well, I'll wait on you. :B

Well, Tex, to be honest, I haven't read much good about it but I'll have to see for myself. The original was more in the order of suspense/horror and the remake, from what I've read, has taken a comedic approach. I am a big fan of Iran Levin's work ever since he authored Rosemary's Baby so I hope the remake doesn't do too much damage to the book. I bought the dvd knowing full well that I may be disappointed, but I have the original Stepford Wives and wanted to own both versions. So we'll see.

My wife and I watched Stepford wives last week. I was not impressed. It felt more like a parody of the original. I may also be biased as lately I have felt like Dreamworks is throwing their social morals in my face.

                      This past weekend:

Stepford Wives - thought it was a cute movie, but it took a dive at the end.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - Ehhhh... not a bad idea, and a decent plot line. Rather strange way the movie was put together though. Kind of like that movie, I think it was called "Magnolia", with Tom Cruise, Julianne Moore, and William H. Macy.
                      CHRIS

Well, we're safe for now. Thank goodness we're in a bowling alley.

Watched The Patriots Beat the Cheifs on MNF last night in a Bar on a 27 inch TV. Wish I was home but can't fit a 9 foot pool table in my living room.

Up for this weekend I'm starting on a Childhood favorite. Season 1 Knight Rider. :T

Here is what I've watched recently:

                            1) Chronicles of Riddick: I agree, not very good plotwise, but very good audio track. I guess it's an animal thing, .

                            2) Hellboy: I enjoyed this film more that I thought I would. Definitely entertaining and a very good audio track.

                            Regards,

                            Azeke

Not to start a debate....I liked Van Helsing, but I had low expectations from various reviews.

Russian Ark - A one of a kind movie. After years of planning, it was shot in one take, with one camera, and no editing or stopage of the film rolling for the entire 96 minutes. I still can't believe how they choreographed the whole film but...most definitely not for all tastes.

Actually went to the movies and remembered why I don't go. Saw Alexander and National Treasure.

My TV produces a better picture and my sound system is 100x better than the theaters. Also my couch is more comfortable.

Toss The Chronicles Of Riddick and Harry Potter: The Prisoner Of Azkaban on the DVD pile for me. We caught National Treasure at the cinema, too.
