    Just in Time for Halloween

The first gets lots of love because it's being compared to Se7en with influences from Halloween, WickerMan, Texas Chainsaw, Shining and others :T

    SAW
    Directed by: James Wan
    Written by: Leigh Whannell
Cast: Tobin Bell, Cary Elwes, Danny Glover, Dina Meyer, Monica Potter
    Studio: Lions Gate Films
    Genre: Horror
    release date:October 29, 2004

When Adam is jolted back to consciousness after nearly drowning at the bottom of a decrepit bathtub, he awakes to find himself chained to a rusty pipe inside a dark torture chamber. There is someone else in the room. Dr. Lawrence Gordon has also just regained consciousness and is chained to the opposite side of the space. Between them a man is lying in a pool of blood after apparently shooting himself in the head with the pistol in his hand. Adam and Dr. Gordon piece together the clues left behind by the deranged criminal mind that has brought them together and finally realize that they, too, must make a seemingly impossible set of choices for their lives.

The second I'm on the fence about because it looks like a "The Ring" knockoff....but who knows

    The Grudge
    Directed by: Takashi Shimizu
    Written by: Stephen Susco
Cast: Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jason Behr, KaDee Strickland, Clea DuVall, Courtney Webb
    Studio: Sony/Columbia
    Genre: Horror
    Official Site: www.sonypictures.com/movies/thegrudge/
    Release Date: October 22, 2004

Based on the Japanese hit Ju-On, THE GRUDGE is the curse of one who dies in the grip of a powerful rage. Those who encounter this murderous supernatural curse die and a new one is born – passed like a virus from victim to victim in an endless, growing chain of horror.

Happy Halloween my ghouls and gals

Being a BIG Buffyverse inhabitant, I'll be seeing The Grudge, even though it looks doggone scary.

Gordon, your images aren't showing up - unless the posters are both little red X's. :B

            David,

Buffy and Angel were two of the only TV shows I watch. My kids got me into them, so I'm happy to see Sarah Michelle doing this pic too.

Keith that pretty much describes my "mainstream" viewing too. With both shows being cancelled, you can imagine how much I do now - other than sports (which goes without saying I guess ).

Soz ya know, passed a Universal Studios truck on the freeway a few weeks ago carrying crates stenciled "The Ring 2", so I guess a sequel is on the way, production wise.

For every one that likes to be kept on the edge of your seat, then you all must see "SAW" it is excellent and i personally thought it was better than seven.

I am not going to give any of the plot away because i dont want to spoil it for anyone.

                    highly recommended. full stop.
