Staring Robert De Niro and Eddie Murphy, this is a story about 2 cops that have to team up for a reality based TV show. De Niro, plays Mitch Preston and very by the book and serious cop, "If you commit a crime in my city, I'll do everyting in my power to put you in jail." He says that to a class of elementary school kids. Trey Sellars, played by Murphy, on the other hand is looking to get into show business, he's got his own 8x10 glossy.
The two get together when De Niro shoots a TV camera while chasing some bad guys after Murphy screws up a drug bust. The station's got the city by the balls so the teamup is going to happen. The overall plot is pretty thin, and the bad guys really have no motivation. I couldn't figure out what they wanted or why. I do know one thing, they had this big ass gun that should really shake the foundations once it comes out on DVD.
The theater I saw it in was lacking in the LFE punch.
We have the producer played by Rene Rousso and William Shanter makes an appearance as himself. But we're really here to see Murphy and De Niro. And those two don't dissapoint. It would have been a better movie if they just stuck to the buddy formula and dumped the major villian heavy, but hey, I still had fun. I'll be looking for the DVD that will sure to be out in 6 months.

There are three kinds of people in this world; those that can count, and those that can't.
