Are any of you watching this on HBO?
It’s probably my favourite TV show at present. It’s now in its second season. I eagerly look forward to each new episode.
For those of you who haven’t heard about it it’s a weekly satire that takes a serious poke at politicians, corporates, institutions and newsmakers. No organisation or individual that is behaving or performing badly is safe from John Oliver’s biting wit. I guess that’s the beauty of working for HBO; it doesn’t broadcast advertisements so it isn’t beholding to anyone.
I would particularly recommend this program to my American fellow HTG members because it will give you a perspective on the United States that you probably won’t see anywhere else. Scenes are readily available on YouTube if you want to have a look. Here's a list of the subjects that he's tackled so far:
