    Final curtains

Let's see, this year ending we have:

    1. Will and Grace
    2. Reba (I think)
    3. the new Presidential drama with Gina Davis (forget name)
    4. The West Wing
I think it was time for 5 and 6 to end, but still could have been influenced by WB/Universal merger.
    5. Seventh Heaven
    6. Charmed Ones
    7. Alias (added) thanks Paul
    8. Everwood (casualty of WB/Universal merger).
    9. Reba, (casualty of WB/Universal merger)
    now what have I missed?

another casualty of the WB Universal merger. Everwood is all done next week. I really liked Everwood. Granted, it's not been as strong a writing year this year, but still only 3 years is a short series.

That went quickly down hill the last couple seasons, I'm surprised it was still being made actually.

Some borderline comedy shows remain in production due to the value of reruns, not necessarily the value of the show itself. This was true of Drew Carey toward the end, I read.

I had my suspicions about "Commander in Chief", the Geena Davis presidential show, from the beginning. Seemed to me to be a smokescreen propaganda device for Hillary to run for pres in the future.

I gave it a shot, though, and watched parts of some of the shows. Maybe it's just me, but I found it to be much like the style of Star Trek: Voyager (or whatever it's called) with the female starship Captain. Just that instead of having the organizational leader happening to be a woman, it seemed to really place an emphasis on "we need to show women in charge". So I found the dialogue choppy, and the leadership displayed by the female character to be very uninspired, un-charismatic, and not believable. The kind of thing where you have:

                    "General, get me the stats"
"Yes, Madame President. Are you choosing plan A?"
                    "Yes, that's my decision"
                    "Right away, you're in charge"
"Yes, I'm in charge. I'm the boss"
"Yes, we will follow your lead."
"Good, because I have the final say".

In contrast, there have been several other shows where the lead character not only made decisions, but really displayed some phenomenal leadership as well. Picard, Riker, the Pres on "West Wing", etc.

I frankly wondered about that alterior motive Chris. I mean Hollywood as a general rule are decidedly liberal. They aren't even bashfull about it. I thought the show started out ok, but it went decidedly downhill fast. After it came back from it's hiatus, it was as if monkeys had been writing the scripts, lol. At first, I felt it at least had some thought put into it.
