Richard Donner had a premier of it here at the local cinema Thursday night (he has a home here) with the proceeds going to a local charity, and the responses I've heard from attendees were by and large positive. June, it would be helpful if you could be more informative about what you didn't approve of - and what you did for that matter.

Donner rarely disappoints me, though I do feel the Lethal Weapon franchise went on too long. I also like the way Bruce Willis often takes chances with roles--in this case, he plays an older, tired looking cop. Probably won't see it at the theater but it will very likely end up in my dvd collection.

A perfect summation, imo. Especially Mos Def. The movie has its moments, but it left me flat. I thought the final scene was unnecessary and totally "Hollywood".

This happened on Oracle Island? Donner is your neighbor?? People on that island need charity??? You have a local cinema???? (OK, with that last one you've really strained credulity.) :>) Just wondering -- why didn't you go? That would have been so cool....

I wouldn't call Mr. Donner a neighbor. He and I just share portions of this 55-square-mile island. I'm not even sure where his estate is.
