    The Next James Bond Revealed

Here's a story from Reuters on the selection of the next actor to play James Bond. Here's a pic, too.

Craig's selection was revealed as he was brought down the River Thames aboard a military boat to a news conference for the upcoming Bond movie Casino Royale, wearing the spy's trademark tuxedo and dark glasses.

Craig, 37, co-starred with Tom Hanks and Paul Newman in Road to Perdition, played poet Ted Hughes opposite Gwyneth Paltrow's Sylvia Plath in Sylvia, and appeared in this year's thriller The Jacket with Adrien Brody.

Casino Royale, the 21st Bond film, will be directed by Martin Campbell, who also directed Brosnan's first Bond outing, 1995's GoldenEye.

Producers announced last year that they were seeking a replacement for Brosnan. The 52-year-old actor played the suave British spy in the last four Bond films, including 2002's Die Another Day.

Other actors who had been mentioned as 007 contenders include Clive Owen, Ioan Gruffudd, Colin Firth, Hugh Grant, Gerard Butler, Ewan McGregor, Colin Farrell, Hugh Jackman, Heath Ledger and Eric Bana.

Casino Royale is expected to be released next year.

He's different but I think that's a good thing. He's excellent as an actor. We'll see if he has the pinache to pull off Bond.

I'm hypercritical about this because Bond is my favorite "Character".

I know this guy's a good actor but he doesn't fit the Bond mould-at least in the way I pictured Bond. For me it was Connery, Brosnan and Timothy Dalton. Frankly I think the Bond era has come to an end for me, but I could be wrong about Craig. Now if they had gone with Clive Owen, I would have been more open minded. What could make the difference for me would be the screenplay, a more realistic approach to 007 as a man rather than a comicbook superhero, and how Craig himself actually depicts Bond. But get rid of the feakin' blond hair, Mr. Craig.

I was pulling for that guy that co-stars with Jim Belushi in the sit com According to Jim, you know the big guy. I think it's time for an everyman's Bond. Twinkie hanging out of his mouth and a twinkie on his arm. Guns blazing, sort of a satirical bond.

But seriously, nothing wrong with blonde hair, I've had some most my life. However, does it fit the Bond persona, that we've all come to know and love? Not so sure. Personally, I thought Brosnan was the choice to age 55 anyway. At 55 they could still make him look 40ish probably. I'm pretty disappointed they let Brosnan go, as he deserved to go out with a helluva lot better script than they gave him the last couple of Bond films.

Yeah, that's a real shame. Terrible plot that even Halle Berry couldn't save. Even the cgi sucked.

Getting back to original thread. Daniel Craig apparently has the blessings of Sean Connery. So I guess we'll see.

Well, I'm not that familiar with the guy they picked, but looking through the names of the contenders, it's certainly not the worst they could have done.

I mean, Colin Farrell or Hugh Grant?? Come on. They just don't have the "style"
