    21st Bond Movie, Casino Royale

Ok, it's not "at the movies" yet. But it will certainly be at the movies before DVD, so I put this information here.

While no mention yet who will play Bond, the next film will be named Casino Royale, based on the first novel in the series by Ian Flemming in the series published in 1953.

Additionally, Martin Cambell that directed the 1995 Golden Eye movie, Pierce Brosnan's first is on board to direct the film. Perhaps it is possible with him on board, that if Brosnan felt really good about the first Bond flick, that maybe he'd come back for one more. Possible anyway. (purely guessing on my part)

There was actually a unofficial spoof, or take off on this book in 1967 with Peter Sellars, Woody Allen and David Niven.

I suppose we will know sometime fairly soon who will be cast as Bond. There was no mention of a timetable in my source, a CNN article.

Looking back at the orginal Casino Royale, I always think "is this REALLY a James Bond movie"? With all the hoopla around a new Bond film, it'll be interesting to see what approach Mr. Campbell gives us.

I too will be interested in a more BOND version of Casino Royale. Like Tex I had a hard time thinking of the first "spoof" version as a Bond movie.

It wasn't Brosnan's choice not to be involved in this project...he was told they're going in a different direction with the Bond series...i.e. younger which makes sense given that this is the movie they're planning on filming.

I liked Brosnan in Golden Eye, Tomorrow Never Dies, and The World is Not Enough, but I was a little dissapointed with Die Another Day (I still own all of them though).

Can't wait to see the next one, and it will be interesting to see who takes over the role as James.

Die Another Day was not the movie the first 3 were, that's true enough. But I don't download the blame for that to Brosnan. I think it was just the script largely. It's a fact though, GoldenEye and Tomorrow Never Dies were Bond flicks through and through. Even the World is Not Enough, not bad, not to bad at all. It's about time to view some Bond, as I haven't watched any of them in a while. Owning them all? IS there any other option? LOL.

Yeah it was definetly the script. Thats what I meant to say. Of the four Pierce was in, my favorite scene was in Golden Eye where he races the Ferrari in his Aston Martin.

"I enjoy a spirited ride as much as the next girl"

              "Who's That?"

              "The Next Girl..." :T
