    Hostage

Bruce Willis is back. Hostage is one of his best movies imo and the acting from all cast members is excellent. A great story and some edge of your seats moments make this very memorable. It definitley has some great sounding moments so I'm looking forward to the dvd. Go see it you shouldn't be disappointed. :T

Here were my comments form TTP:

It was contrived, the situation was a little unbelievable and in a way the whole feel reminded me a lot like Cliff Hanger but all-in-all it was fun. This director has an early Renny Harlin style. You know what, this will likely end up on the shelf as a guilty pleasure.
Willis isn't so yipee-ki-yay in this one, though the movie has Die Hard elements, he fit the character well to his age so that he was quite human and falable even though they give his character an impressive background.

The diff between say Arnold "The Gubenator" playing down the super human and Willis playing it down is that Bruce is a likeable average looking shmo who comes off looking and acting like the rest of us. He allows us to identify with him. Personally I can never do that with Arnold when he's playing a "regular guy".

There are some really well edited moments of tension and I was entertained for 2 hours so I couldn't ask for more.

I'll give it an A- if you accept it for what it is.

Probably won't buy on the first round and will get it at a reduced price down the road possibly at the used places, but I will put this on the shelf I figure.
Sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.

There was a post on this a few months back in AT THE MOVIES, but since it is now out on dvd I will post my comments on it here.

At the beginning of this film, Willis is a hostage negotiator. Things go terribly wrong and Willis is devastated. A year later he is a police chief in a small...

        Arnold's new action pic...

My understanding is that this film was being witheld from release because of the events of September 11th, and yet I swear I saw some advertising somewhere regarding its release. In it Arnold playes a firefighter and his family is killed during a terrorist attack. If it is being released, I'm not sure...

This might be fun too for folks all...
