    For all Star Wars fans

Some incredibly dedicated Enthusiasts and apparently generous fans, artists, and the local film industry have come together to make a 47-minute feature film set in the Star Wars universe. "Star Wars: Revelations" takes place between Episodes 3 and 4 of the Star Wars Saga. Watch it. I have just downloaded my copy.

The effects were fantastic even if the acting was average. But great effort all round.

Should we really be watching this before seeing Episode III? Will it spoil anything?

                  Watched it.

I'd say acting was on-par with Hayden Christensen's, so it's not too much of a departure...

Some effects were good, others were lame.

                  Not really impressed, sorry. :B

it took me 15-20 min to download at 186 Kbps download speed :E , and dont worry it has nothing that will spoil the fun of the upcoming release, its just an effort made by some people.

                        Comment from the production team

You would be pleased to know, that Zap (our compositing wizard) has started a bittorrent of the DVD .iso files. You'll find that the DVD's audio is superior to the .WMV or .MOV encoding. Sadly, there was a flub with the video render, so it's a bit aliased -- especially noticable during the CG scenes. It's still watchable, though it can get a bit distracting. (Much as I'd love to bug Shane to re-encode the DVD video, he's indicated clearly that he's done done DONE with Revelations, and I can't say I blame him one bit!)

The .iso files make up a two-disc set. One disc contains the movie (including subtitles, director and VFX comments), the other contains about an hour and a half of behind-the-scenes stuff. Get 'em here:

Note that due to the huge huge size, these images are available through torrent only. Once you have 'em, feel free to burn as copies as you want and pass them around.

I've got to give props to the people that created this. Anyone that expects this to be on the same level as a professionally made Star Wars movie is just setting the bar way too high.

Great effort by the enthusiasts. I enjoyed it for what it was, and was very impressed with the CGI for something at this level.

Heheee... while I think the comments are funny, I still think we're putting WAY too many expectations on an amateur home video project.

If any of us made an amateur movie project, (which you'd probably want to appear in yourself, if you're going to go to the trouble) and got some studio help with special effects, I think you'd be stunned if you let people see it on the net and they just bashed you for trying.

I really don't think the film makers believed this was going to be a cinema-quality flick or anything, on par with the other 6 Star Wars episodes.

 well yes, I also had the same first thoughts as amadeo has, but then I wasnt expecting Paris hilton on the movie or pamela anderson and match the acting skills of Julia roberts (she good looking too). Its their efforts which are commendable to pull up a project like this.
