    SpongeBob SquarePants

Spongebob, well I've seen the show before so I knew what I was getting into. Think Ren and Stimpy for kids. It's a little too "smart-ass humour" for my liking....it offers little in the way of ed-ma-cational value other than teaching your kid how to be a wise-ass, which tends to be a trend with kids these days, just my opinion, feel free to disagree. It did offer something of a message that kids can overcome many odds and that they can succeed but it almost seems like the creators threw that message out there to snow the audience to make up for an hour and half of toilet humour. So I probably do have some regrets, taking my kids to this personally.
That said it's possible I've probably missed the boat since the movie is reviewing really well right now.

The movie has an extremely creative opening involving a musical sequence and live action pirates but that creative spark is lost to double-entendres not really appropriate in this type of movie (in fact they were probably jacked up for the movie). They're intended for the adult watcher but they're no where half as smart as what pixar can pull off.
The David Hasslehoff cameo is completely lost on the movie's intended audience in that they had no idea who he was. So I question the relevance of including him (was sort of funny but like the rest of the movie "over the top")
I'd say the movie is recommended *only* if you are a fan. My recommendation would be to have a run through first unless you are completely comfortable with your kids viewing this kind of humour.

    2.5 out of 5

I took my kids to it Saturday night (yeah yeah, I know, exciting social life).

And here's my take: There's a good reason why SpongeBob episodes are only 15 minutes long.

      Spy Kids 3D

Well, Best Buy was having a sale today to coincide with the release of "Spy Kids 3D". If you buy this new movie, you can get Spy Kids 1 and 2 for $9.99 each. Seemed good to me.

Now, I haven't seen any of the Spy Kids movies, but I've heard they're good, and got some good reviews....

In time for Halloween -- Scary Movie 3
      by Burke Strickland
Scary Movie 3 (SM3) is solidly in the bad-taste-is funny, sight-gags-galore spoof-a-rama tradition of Airplane! (the same director did both). Unlike Scary Movie 2, which was a tired re-hash of the "original" Scary Movie, (which I enjoyed), SM3 treads new ground, parodying not just horror flicks...

Protecting 800 Series Tweeters from Kids
      by EAmin
Just wondering if anyone with kids has come up with a creative way of protecting the 800 series tweeters. My problem is not so much with my kids, but with rest of the younger population that come over to our house. I currently have 703s which have a much sturdier tweeter housing to keep out the little...

      Friends With Kids

Thought it was time to get back to watching the odd romantic comedy my wife and I enjoyed so much so I went with Friends With Kids. It's written, co-produced and directed by Jennifer Westfeldt. She , and her friend since college days ( Adam Scott ) decide to have a child, but without the romance thing....
